So how does it work?

In the production of an ONYX COOKWARE™ frying pan, we use three layers – also referred to as “Tri-Ply” or “Clad” cookware. We start with a layer of magnetic stainless steel. This ensures that the frying pan will work on any stove – gas, ceramic or induction - it’s all the same when using ONYX COOKWARE™ products. After that comes a layer of aluminum, which provides even heat distribution. We then sandwich this with a final layer of stainless steel.

What really sets our products apart from your regular cookware, is the unique laser etching process that creates the patented ONYX COOKWARE™ hexagon design. This unique process creates a series of peaks and valleys on the frying pan. In the valley is the non-stick material, making sure you get that non-stick functionality and easy clean-up. On the peaks you get the stainless steel, providing durability, perfect sear on your meat and the ability to use metal utensils and tools. This is why we call our frying pans “hybrid”. They provide you with the best of two worlds; The non-stick functionality that we all want in our frying pan and the durability of a professional stainless steel or cast iron pan.

Choose your coating!

At ONYX COOKWARE™ Cookware we simply cannot help but strive to bring you the very best kitchen tools and continue to innovate endlessly. Therefore we give you the option for two different coatings on our frying pans; Original and Ceramic. The design and appearance is identical, but there is a difference in terms of non-stick and durability between the two.

Our Original high-grade Japanese PTFE non-stick coating, which is infused with diamond dust for extra strength and durability. This coating provides extreme durability and the absolute perfect searing, while still giving you the superb non-stick functionality that you would expect from a high-quality non-stick frying pan.

Alternatively our Ceramic non-stick coating, which is our latest development. Not only is it a natural and environmentally friendly coating, it is also a coating that takes the non-stick experience to new heights. For the really sticky stuff, you can simply melt your cheese directly on the pan or make your sunny-side-up eggs with very little to no butter, fats or oils. But due to our patented design, it will still sear your meats to absolute perfection!

THE PERFECT SEAR!

Regardless of what coating you choose - when it comes to your meat, this is where our cookware really shines!

Trying to fry a good steak on a normal non-stick frying pan, is a truly miserable experience. Sure, you will get it done alright. But you will not be getting that crisp sear that you want on your meat. That is because you are cooking on a completely flat surface, where the fluids (fat from the meat, or your own added butter or oils) have nowhere to go. You will in fact be literally boiling your steak.

With our ONYX COOKWARE™ frying pan, the patented laser etched design guarantees that you will get the same crisp sear that you would expect from using for example a specialized cast iron grill pan.

But it doesn't stop at the meat. Sauté onions perfectly with the excellent and quick control over the heat. Quit boiling your mushrooms and grill asparagus to perfection! Even pan-roasted potatoes becomes a breeze without having to use a ton of oil to get the perfect browning.

CERAMIC INNOVATION – NON-STICK EXTREME

Can you improve on perfection? We believe so!

We are proud to introduce our latest innovation on our already groundbreaking cookware; Ceramic coating. Yes, we have achieved what no one else so far has been able to do; to produce a truly metal utensil safe, ceramic coated frying pan.

So, what is a ceramic coating you may ask? It is a coating produced from natural materials – more precisely Clay and Sand. These materials are, through a Sol-gel process, applied to the cookware and then it is baked.

Generally speaking ceramic coating is known to provide the most extreme non-stick experiences. Literally nothing will stick to a ceramic frying pan. This will not only allow for easier cooking and cleaning, it also enables healthier cooking because you can use less to none fats and oils. They just have one problem: Durability. A regular ceramic frying pan from your local hardware store is very fragile. It cannot handle any kind of metal utensils. You need to use special silicone or plastic utensils on it, but even if you are very careful, the non-stick will not last very long.

That is where our uniquely designed cookware comes in. With our unique design, these drawbacks are completely removed. Our frying pan, with our specially designed ceramic coating, will not only give you the most extreme non-stick experience you have ever tried – but it will maintain the durability and metal utensil safe properties that the ONYX COOKWARE™ brand is known for!

METAL UTENSIL SAFE

The most defining feature of the ONYX COOKWARE™ frying pan, is without a doubt the ability to use metal utensils and tools without any risk of scratching or otherwise damaging the non-stick coating on your frying pan. This is true whether you choose our Original or Ceramic coating. Use your metal spatula, forks, spoons – yes even a knife to cut your meat directly on the frying pan! Our unique patented hybrid technology ensures that you can use metal utensils without any fear of damaging the coating.

But if you choose our Original coating, you can even use electric power tools on it. We are not kidding. You can use your high-powered electric mixer directly on the ONYX COOKWARE™ frying pan with Original coating, without making a scratch! In fact, when you choose our original non-stick coating, you do not only get cookware that is metal utensil resistant. Our high-grade PTFE coating is so durable, that you can actually use a steel sponge on it! In our opinion, this is one of the most underappreciated features of our products. We promise you this; once you have tried to clean our products, you will never be able to go back to anything else.

OVEN SAFE

Because the ONYX COOKWARE™ frying pan is stainless steel and aluminum all the way through, even the handle, it can be used safely in the oven up to 260C.

With a complete set of ONYX COOKWARE™ cookware, you will never need to use an ovenproof dish/tray anymore. We are not joking here. Using it for chicken is easy, but it does not stop there. You want to make Lasagna? Casserole? Homemade Pizza? Or simply a big fat (and delicious) chocolate cake? Just take out your ONYX COOKWARE™ frying pan or saute pan, and start cooking. It is easier than using most ovenproof dishes or trays. And as already mentioned – the cleaning is truly a breeze!

EASY CLEANING - DISHWASHER SAFE

Yes, we already mentioned it several times. But this is simply something that cannot be emphasized enough; Our frying pans are so easy to clean, that you will never be able to go back to using anything else.

Wether you choose our Original or Ceramic coating, the non-stick functionality ensures that cleaning is a breeze. Most times, you will simply be able to rinse the pan in hot water or wipe it with a cloth – and it will be clean!

But it does not end there. If you have a busy life, you don’t even need to clean our frying pans by hand! Our products are all dishwasher safe! Just put them in the dishwasher, and let the machine do the work.
