SO HOW DOES IT WORK?

In the production of the ONYX COOKWARE™ pots and pans, we use three layers – also referred to as “Tri-Ply” or “Clad” cookware. We start with layer of magnetic stainless steel. This ensures that the pots and pans will work on any stove – gas, ceramic or induction – it’s all the same when using ONYX COOKWARE™ products. After that, comes a layer of aluminum which provides even heat distribution. We then sandwich this with a final layer of stainless steel.

What really sets our products apart from your regular pots and pans, is the unique laser etching process that creates the patented ONYX COOKWARE™ hexagon design. This unique process creates a series of peaks and valleys on the pots and pans. In the valley is the non-stick material, making sure you get that non-stick functionality and easy cleanup. One of the peaks you get is the stainless steel, providing durability, perfect sear on your meat and the ability to use metal utensils and tools. This is why we call our pots and pans “hybrid”. They provide you with the best of two worlds; The non-stick functionality that we all want in our pots and pans and the durability of a professional stainless steel or cast iron pan.

THE PERFECT SEAR!

When it comes to your meat, this is where our cookware really shines!

Trying to fry a good steak on a normal non-stick pots and pans, is a truly miserable experience. Sure, you will get it done alright. But you will not be getting that crisp sear that you want on your meat. That is because you are cooking on a completely flat surface, where the fluids (fat from the meat, or your own added butter or oils) have nowhere to go. You will in fact be literally boiling your steak.

With our ONYX COOKWARE™ pots and pans, the patented laser etched design guarantees that you will get the same crisp sear that you would expect from using for example a specialized cast iron grill pan.

But it doesn't stop at the meat. Sauté onions perfectly with the excellent and quick control over the heat. Quit boiling your mushrooms and grill asparagus to perfection! Even pan-roasted potatoes becomes a breeze without having to use a ton of oil to get the perfect browning.

We are proud to introduce our newest innovation on our already groundbreaking cookware: Ceramic coating. Yes, we have achieved what no one else so far has been able to do; to produce a truly metal utensil safe, ceramic coating, non-stick pots and pans.

So, what is a ceramic coating you may ask? It is a coating produced from natural materials – more precisely Clay and Sand. These materials are, through a Sol-gel process, applied to the cookware and then it is baked.

Generally speaking, ceramic coating is known to provide the most extreme non-stick experiences. Literally nothing will stick to ceramic pots and pans. This will not only allow for easier cooking and cleaning, it also enables healthier cooking because you can use less fats and oils. They only have one problem: Durability. A regular ceramic pot or pan from your local hardware store is very fragile. It cannot handle any kind of metal utensils. You need to use special silicone or plastic utensils on it, but even if you are very careful, the non-stick will not last very long.

That is where our uniquely designed cookware comes in. With our unique design, these drawbacks are completely removed. Our cookware, with our specially designed ceramic coating, will not only give you the most extreme non-stick experience you have ever tried – but it will maintain the durability and metal utensils safe properties that the ONYX COOKWARE™ brand is known for!

THE COOKING POTS

The ONYX COOKWARE™ COOKING POTS are the perfect fusion of functionality, simplicity, and superior materials and quality. All our cooking and sauce pots are made with our Ceramic high-grade non-stick coating, which is infused with diamond dust for that extra strength and durability. This coating provides extreme durability and the perfect sautéing or browning of meats and vegetables, while giving you the superb non-stick functionality that you would expect from high-quality non-stick cookware. Our ONYX COOKWARE™ COOKING POTS’ unique Tri-Ply composition with aluminum in the middle, is not only great for even heat distribution on our cookware. It also means that our cookware will heat up so much faster than regular cookware products made from stainless steel, cast iron or similar.

You may be thinking; Why do I need to have non-stick in my cooking pot? Oh – let us tell you! Of course, there is the obvious case; when you need to make a sauce. We have all tried to burn our Sauce Bearnaise and get that foul taste of burned sauce as well as chunks of burned sauce mixed into it all. Yuck. With our cookware, making even the most difficult of sauces, will be so much easier for you! But even less “tricky” recipes, such as big pot of Beef Stroganoff or simple pasta or rice, will be so much easier to make, when you have a high-quality non-stick cooking pot, where you don’t need to worry about everything getting burned.

But this is where our cookware is truly different from the rest – even though our cooking and sauce pots are non-stick, they will sauté, sear, or brown your meats or vegetables to absolute perfection. So many pot dishes require you to sauté or brown off some vegetables or meats. In a regular cooking pot, this is just a terrible experience – and many choose to do the sautéing or browning in a separate frying pan. There is also the frustration of waiting for a large pot of water to boil – whether it is for pasta or eggs. It seems to take ages, and there is nothing worse than having to linger by the stove, checking repeatedly to see if the water is boiling – annoying, right? This is yet a problem we have fixed for you!

METAL UTENSIL SAFE

The most defining feature of the ONYX COOKWARE™ pots and pans is without a doubt the ability to use metal utensils and tools without any risk of scratching or otherwise damaging the non-stick coating on your pots and pans. This is not a joke! Use your metal spatula, forks, spoons – yes even a knife to cut your meats directly your ONYX COOKWARE™ pots and pans! Our unique patented hybrid technology ensures that you can use metal utensils without any fear of damaging the coating.

SAY GOODBYE TO THE OVEN TRAYS!

While our Saute Pots are all oven safe, we really wanted to find a way to eliminate the hassle of having to use a regular tempered glass oventray for making larger portions of oven-based dishes, such as lasagna, chops-in-dish, or anything similar. With the Saute Pot, we solved this problem once and for all. Forget about oven trays that are completely impossible to clean and also require you to use a separate Saute Pot to fry/saute the meat or vegetables before going in the oven.

We designed the largest size, the 32cm to fit perfectly in a regular market sized oven, giving you the highest possible volume to fit in the oven. Our two smaller sizes, the 28cm and 24 cm, will stack perfectly in the 32cm size, to make for easy and convenient storing.

The ONYX COOKWARE™ SAUTE POT is a hybrid between our saute pan and our cooking pots that with its characterizable higher edges, open up the doors to a whole new dimension of endless possibilities as to what you can make with one pot or pan. As the higher edges on the ONYX COOKWARE™ SAUTE POT provides spaces for dishes that contain liquid or make it possible to fry something at supe high heat while vigorously shaking it around without it falling out of the pan.

The other half of the hybrid is the cooking pot/oven tray side. The two opposite handles are what sets it apart from a normal saute pan. The two opposite handles make it easy to lift it directly from the stove or the oven and maneuver it around. Use it on the stove or in the oven as a pot or use it without the lid as a deep roasting pan for the oven. Ready to serve? Take the pan straight out of the oven and set it directly on the table (remember a trivet) – this is made easy by the two handles on each side of the pot to which also makes it stable and safe to lift.

This means that the ONYX COOKWARE™ SAUTE POT is a real all-rounder in the kitchen. Whether you need to sear meat, sauté vegetables, make a risotto or make a lasagna in the oven, the ONYX COOKWARE™ SAUTE POT is up to the task.

OVEN SAFE

Because the ONYX COOKWARE™ pots and pans is stainless steel and aluminum all the way through, even the handle, it can be used safely in the oven up to 260°C.

With a complete set of ONYX COOKWARE™ pots and pans, you will never need to use an ovenproof dish/tray anymore. We are definitely not joking right now. Using it for chicken is easy, but it does not stop there. You want to make Lasagna? Casserole? Homemade pizza? Or simply a big fat (and delicious) chocolate cake?
