Inspiration - Gormet Hotdogs

Recipe for Gormet hotdogs

  • 3 dl water
  • 1 dl milk
  • 50 g yeast
  • 0.50 dl olive oil
  • 1 egg
  • 200 g graham flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.50 teaspoon crushed cardamom
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 450 g wheat flour
  • 1 egg, to brush with
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • Filling for Hot Dogs
  • 12 wiener sausages
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Kimchi Kraut
  • Kraut with red cabbage
  • Fresh thyme
  • 2 onions, for the fried onions
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Butter

  1. Stir the yeast into lukewarm water, add milk, oil and eggs. Stir graham flour, salt, cardamom and sugar together and stir it into the yeast mixture. Stir in wheat flour and knead until the dough is pliable.
  2. Let the dough rise in a bowl for 40 minutes. Form 12 oblong sausage loaves. Use a little oil on the table top and your hands instead of flour for kneading so that the loaves do not get dry.
  3. Let the sausage loaves rise on a baking sheet with parchment paper for 30 minutes, brush with beaten eggs and finally sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake the loaves in a preheated oven at 175 degrees for 15-18 minutes.
  4. Peel the onions and cut in half. Then cut it into thin slices. Melt the butter in a pan over a good heat and add the onions. Stir while simmering. Then add sugar and a little water and fry the onions soft. This takes about 10 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper, and serve immediately from the pan.
  6. Fry the sausages on the pan and when they are ready, take them off the pan and put them in the warm, freshly baked bread.
  7. Then add the filling to your hot-dog. Remember the fried onions, ketchup, mustard and your favorite Kraut.
  8. Bon appétit!
